I start work on Monday. That means this week was truly a vacation. While I didn't have a job, and had that hanging over my head I was not truly on vacation even if I didn't have to go to work every day. While I was not depressed as many are when they are unemployed for long stretches of time, every day wasn't just an easy walk in the park (although I did occasionally go for a walk to the beach). And if you've read any of my recent posts you know that the last few months I approached negative emotions that were more typical of a person who had been out of work for a long period of time. Today was nice. I woke at 10 to 5 AM, and rode down to Sunset Cove. I meditated in my car and before the sun was up entered the water. I surfed with 4 of my friends. We had a blast. We each caught a bunch of waves. Congratulated each other, enjoyed the sun coming up, and the camaraderie. After coming home I went to the Santa Monica farmers , something I won't be able to do once I start work. Picked up the photos I've sold from the framing shop, which was very satisfying. Went for a nice mid day bike ride, another luxury I will not be able to do once I start work. And then a nice meditation with my girlfriend whose client had canceled. Topped off the day with a meeting of my local Abraham-Hicks discussin group. All in all a very satisfying Staycation day. Wonder what tomorrow will bring.
